Dr. Douglas Lange

Orthopedic Surgeon

MOS Locations:
Walnut Creek (Sequoia Building)

Specialties:

Dr. Lange practices general orthopedic surgery with a special interest in total joint reconstruction and replacement for the hip and knee. He is trained in minimally invasive surgery for hips and knees.

Approach to Treatment

Joint replacement surgery is incredibly gratifying work. I love to see a patient restored to a pain free and active lifestyle.

For years Dr. Lange has focused on joint replacement surgery, attending each year a number of national meetings related to joint replacement techniques, as well as visiting the operating rooms of other joint replacement specialists across the country to learn their special techniques.

Over recent years he has restricted his practice to total hip and total knee replacement surgery, allowing him to focus, performing between 250 and 300 total joints per year.

Dr. Lange applies 35 years of experience to offer innovative orthopedic treatment without sacrificing personalized attention. His genuine concern for his patients shows in his communication and kindness. His sensitivity to senior issues drives him to seek out new and innovative procedures, which shorten the recovery time.

Dr. Lange can perform the MIS (minimally invasive surgery) surgical techniques on both hips and knees. His emphasis and priority are to perform total joint surgery that will last a lifetime, following precise and efficient techniques with minimal complications, including primarily using Zimmer implants. Most patients are home within three days.

Fortunately, most hip and knee conditions do not require surgery and can be managed conservatively. He makes every effort to provide the best quality of care in the most personal fashion possible, striving to educate  patients regarding all aspects of conservative and surgical alternatives so that they can make the most intelligent decision regarding their orthopedic care.
