My Approach to Treating Patients

My goal is to take an interactive approach to caring for my patients. Education is a cornerstone of my practice as I believe that well-informed patients make the best decisions. I will explain your condition or injury to you as well as the treatment plan options available in terms that are understandable. Together we can tailor a treatment plan that will meet your goals as well as your occupational, recreational and lifestyle needs.

Although I consider myself a general orthopedist, I specialize in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and fracture management. I enjoy treating patients from all walks of life.

I believe that many orthopedic conditions can be managed non-operatively. I am an advocate of physical therapy and other conservative treatments. However, if surgery is necessary, I utilize minimally invasive techniques if at all possible. I feel that this will help reduce pain, scarring, and functional limitations and will help you return to your optimal level of function as quickly as possible. I enjoy watching my patients improve their function, relieve their pain, and return to physical activities.

As an athlete myself, I understand what it takes to get you back to your sport after an injury. Whether your injury warrants surgical treatment or more conservative measures, rest assured that I will work with you to get you back to “your game.”

I believe it is imperative to continually stay abreast of cutting edge treatment alternatives, and I’m proud to say we provide quality care with the most cutting-edge modern procedures available. I attend many medical seminars and symposiums so that I can continue to refine my skills and offer you state-of-the-art treatment. For example, I am one of the first surgeons in the Bay Area to perform minimally invasive anterior approach hip replacement surgery. This surgery allows for a quicker recovery with less restriction in function than the traditional total hip replacement.

I enjoy watching my patients improve their function and relieve their pain, returning to physical activity. Simply stated, my goal is to offer you the highest level of orthopedic care in the Bay Area with old fashioned caring and cutting edge care.
